Oftentimes, our favorite artists make us dig beneath the surface to find out more about them. For example, 6LACK has been my favorite artist since late 2016. After listening to Free 6LACK once, listeners have a decent idea of who he is and what he stands for, but they don’t know the full story. Listeners wouldn’t know that he worked alongside Flo Rida early on or that he had a daughter. With that same mindset, I am starting to learn more about one of my new favorite acts, Pink Nois.
Pink Nois delivered his latest album, Author, earlier this month. Prominently placed on his website, there is a brief description of who Pink Nois is.
“Finally! The best one, if I do say so myself. What can I say? You already know who I am. 22. Attractive. Rich. Single. No kids. Great credit. Even better voice. I create and destroy worlds and wait for the inevitable end of everything. And I love long walks on the beach,” the description reads.
Certainly, album cuts like “See It All” with Pure and the guitar-heavy “Curious” fit the description above. With that said, there are a few bars and lines sprinkled throughout the album that dive a bit deeper into who he is as a person. On “That’s Cool,” he sprinkles in a few lines about his high school days, time in college and enduring the death of his grandmother. On “Purify,” the promising artist talks a bit more about the work he’s done to rebalance his life and get a grip on his future.
Overall, Author portrays the life of a young, single and confident bachelor living life to the fullest, but there’s more than what initially meets the eye and that’s what makes this project interesting. Check out the Author in its entirety below.
