The Phoenix Suns during the mid/late 00’s were one of the most exciting teams in basketball. And most of that was due to one man. Two-time MVP Steve Nash. The creative dishes, the alley-oops, that questionable hair. We all loved it. (Except the hair)
And now the Phoenix Suns will recognise the master of the dime, by enrolling him into the Suns’ Ring of Honor.
The Phoenix Suns will induct Steve Nash into the franchise’s Ring of Honor at halftime of their game against Portland on Oct. 30.
Nash was an eight-time All-Star, six with the Suns, and earned league MVP honors in 2005 and 2006. The Suns’ 2004-05 team compiled the best record in franchise history.
Nash is the Suns’ all-time leader in assists, 3-point field goals made and free-throw percentage and ranks third in games played.
He will be the 14th member of the Ring of Honor.
This will only be the beginning of Nash post career recognitions. He’ll be a shoe in for the Basketball Hall Of Fame, which will happen in a few years and with all his football (soccer) work, maybe he’ll be known for something more than just basketball. Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to watch a compilation of Nash’ silky smooth dimes.
