The Philadelphia 76ers continue to be in the news in regards to the makeup of the team. After signing Jerry Colangelo as a chairman of basketball operations and Mike D’Antoni as an associate head coach, the team is once again looking to make moves. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Sixers may be looking to add two veterans to their roster:
Chuck Hayes & John Lucas recently visited Philly to meet with coach Brett Brown, sources told ESPN. Sixers considering adding some veterans.

Adding John Lucas and Chuck Hayes will not do much for the team’s dismal record, clearly. However, the addition of two veterans could have some potential benefits. The team is incredibly young and most, if not all, of its players have not had any continued success in the NBA. Having two veterans who have been on some good teams can be a crucial part of the development of the young players.
The Sixers seem to be moving away, to some extent, from their controversial rebuild. The recent moves signify ownership becoming more impatient with a slow and arduous process that has not yielded any improvements. Whether these new moves actually have a positive impact soon remains to be seen. However, it is is nice to see the organization make a conscious effort to move forward in their rebuild.
