Joel Embiid has not played one single minute in the NBA yet but for some reason, he’s become the most polarizing force on the Philadelphia 76ers.
He’s been out all season due to his offseason foot injury and has fought off some criticism from the media and fans.
There was Embiid’s weight gain and then weight loss but a glimmer of hope over the weekend when Embiid took part in Sixers warmups and threw down a nice between the legs dunk.
Now it seems like something has happened to set Embiid back in his return from the injury.

Told #Sixers Embiid was wearing boot on foot Sun for protective reasons, not because he's had real setback. #76ers #NBA h/t @DerekBodnerNBA

Heard Joel Embiid was at #Sixers practice facility today, but didn't work out after practice (media didn't see him).

The long history of NBA players with foot injuries makes this a little worrisome, especially considering what Embiid has gone through in his progress all season.
While it may be just a minor setback in his recovery, hopefully it’s not a setback in his diet, conditioning or training regiment.
