So the Philadelphia 76ers are officially looking forward to the regular season. Which means that they’ll do the equivalent of simming the whole season on NBA2K. Lets face it, they’re going to let Nerlens and Jahlil loose and the rest of the news is Sam Hinkie saying “believe in the system” and Joel Embiid news.
But hang on. The Sixers aren’t even bothering to update us on Embiid now!
Numerous texts and phone calls to president and general manager Sam Hinkie and others in the organization by the Daily News have gotten no response as the time frame the team set for Embiid’s second surgery on his injured right foot has passed by nearly a month.
Here we are almost a month later and no word on if, or when, Embiid is going to have surgery. Three weeks ago, the Daily News reported that according to two sources, Embiid had rebroken the navicular bone in his foot, which was the reason for the second surgery and why the team announced he would be sidelined for the upcoming season.
Come on guys. What’s up with Embiid? We know his foot is broken again, but is surgery imminent? Does he even need it? So I guess he just need to jog it off?
And how long will he be out? We can guess that he’ll miss the start of the season, but for how long? Until the All-Star break? This is all speculation as of now.
