When the news came out about Philadelphia 76ers injured lottery pick Joel Embiid suffering a setback with his foot, immediately there was cause for concern.
Embiid faced some troubling times with the team when reports came out that he was pushing 300 pounds and had some maturity issues but he quickly resolved those issues.
Then he threw down a pregame dunk between his legs but quickly after that, he went down, again with an issue to his foot.
Now it seems like all is well with Embiids foot issues.
Following from Bob Cooney of Philly.com.
Embiid was back last night and went through his normal workout on the floor with coach Brett Brown and appeared to be fine. In fact, Brown said his 7-footer is just where they expected.
“Everything is right on track,” Brett Brown said. “It’s healing at the rate we expected. He is allowed to dunk [laughter].
“They’ve increased the minutes that we can keep him on the floor [up to 60]. There is going to be some discretion that we use, in regards to how long we decide to work him out. We’re going to be smart with trying to get his weight down, his conditioning up. Because we just received the news [Tuesday], there will be a plan with more detail in place for him that will be organized with K.J. [trainer Kevin Johnson], [assistant coach] Billy Lange and myself.”
Embiid coming back to 100% full health is the most important thing the Sixers need to focus on this season. There is not much else to look out for besides the development of their young players to look toward the future.
Hopefully this means we can see more Embiid pregame dunks.
