The Lakers coaching job is Phil Jackson’s if he wants it, but the organization is still interviewing Mike D’Antoni and Mike Dunleavy in case the Zen Master decides he doesn’t want another crack at ring number twelve. According to reports from Los Angeles, Jackson and the Lakers have discussed conditions of his return including, a salary in line with what he previously earned with the Lakers and more say over basketball decisions.
In addition to that, there has been talk of restricted travel demands on Jackson who underwent knee replacement surgery in March.
“He’s intrigued by the job but not completely sure it’s the right thing to do,” a source said.
Jackson is expected to give the Lakers his answer by Monday.
