We all know that Shaquille O’Neal has an amazing sense of humor. He constantly makes fans laugh. We also know that during his playing days, Shaq would crack up his teammates in some odd ways. According to his former coach, Phil Jackson, Shaq would show up to practice in only his shoes. Nothing else.
Per Kevin McGuire of The Comeback, Jackson said:
“Well, you know, numbers of times, he could crack a team up with humorous effects on the floor,” Jackson said to ESPN’s Hannah Storm at a promotional event sponsored by American Express Monday. “There were times when he shocked us all in a practice situation, especially when he showed up nude with just his shoes on.”
What’s really funny about this is that this isn’t the first report of Shaq pranking his teammates in the nude. In 2014, Alvin Gentry told Extra Mustard that Shaq would tackle teammates in the locker room naked:
The coach said “every few days or every week or so” the big man would come barreling around a locker room corner completely nude and tackle a teammate or coaching staff member to the ground where he would roll around with them in what he called “Brazilian naked wrestling.”
Shaq did respond to the allegations that he came to practice naked while on the Lakers. He smiled and said, “I don’t remember,” to Charles Curtis of For The Win. Either he is trying to block the memory from his mind, has really bad memory loss, or he just doesn’t want everyone knowing that he did that.
