Phil Jackson is slowly losing it. I didn’t want to put the ‘d’ word next to his name but I’m sad to say that this recent diatribe has forced me to say it.
Phil Jackson, is delusional.
Yes. I said it. I didn’t want to but he simply refuses to do things that are common sense in today’s NBA. Why? Because Triangle that’s why.
According to Phil Jackson, chasing for a good point guard is pointless. Because José Calderón is good enough.
New York Knicks president Phil Jackson said he won’t be obsessed with finding a star point guard, in part because the triangle offense hasn’t required one.
“Chasing a point guard, where it becomes just an obsession, isn’t necessary. It’s not necessary. We can play the game without that,” Jackson said Friday at Staples Center.
He then pointed to, you get it, Chicago and the Lakers. But here’s the difference. Carmelo Anthony is not Kobe Bryant, Shaq, or Michael Jordan. So straight off the bat you’re taking an L there. Sure you don’t need a top 5 point guard. But come on!
And do you know what’s even more annoying? They have a decent player in Jerian Grant sitting on the bench, gathering dust because he’s a Rookie. Take a hint!
“We went to a two-guard format, and I think we were successful at it,” he said. “I think we caught a lot of people in the league by surprise because of the way we played. So it works, and we know it works.”
Successful. Interesting, is that why you’re in the Playoffs? Oh wait! You’re nowhere near!
I’m getting steamed and I’m not even a Knicks fan. Lord help Knicks fans everywhere, I feel for you.
