I love media day. It gives coaches, GM’s and key players a chance to verbally pep up their teams. And also give their fans false hope.
A perfect example is Phil Jackson. Who has said in his press conference that the Knicks. Get this. Will be a Playoff team in the coming season! Ian Begley of ESPN NY accounted Jackson’s thoughts on the upcoming NBA season.
“We believe that we’re going to be a playoff team and then we don’t know how far we’ll be able to go,” Jackson said Friday. “We’re hoping for the best.”
“We have really good depth on this team. I think we feel like we’re backed up in every position with some depth, and I think that’s really good,” Jackson said. “Derek can feature what he wants to feature on the different units during preseason and find out who works well together.“
The Triangle done properly is a great advantage. But not even the great Phil Jackson can sort this out. Not in a year. This is something that’ll take years. Even if they get to the Playoffs they ain’t getting anywhere past the first round. Melo can only do so much. If they neglect Tim Hardaway Jr and Iman Shumpert again. I will once again shake my head at the Knicks.
