The Toronto Blue Jays had reportedly secured their shot to play at PNC Park, where the Pittsburgh Pirates play their home games, but this is no longer the case. The Toronto Blue Jays are now on the hunt for a new home once again. They were denied the opportunity to play the 2020 season at PNC Park.
Sources: The Jays’ situation remains in a state of flux: the team, MLB has not received approval from Pennsylvania to use Pittsburgh as its home park. MLB has been in communication with Pa. Governor’s Office. Jays might need another alternative.

The Blue Jays had reportedly reached an agreement to use PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, for the 2020 season, which had only minimal scheduling conflicts. After the Pennsylvania Health Department came together, this plan is no more.
The Pennsylvania Health Department ruled that the number of people that would be coming to and from the region was too high, deeming the risk too high to let the Blue Jays play at PNC Park.
It is tough news for the Blue Jays who are gearing up for the 60-game sprint that is the 2020 season; they will now have to explore other options like their Triple-A Buffalo Bisons affiliate, which has Sahlen Field up for grabs.
With the season starting up this weekend, the Blue Jays will have to scramble to find a home before their July 29th home opener against the Washington Nationals. It sucks, but it is just one of the many hiccups that have been thrown into the 2020 season thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on sports.
