The New Orleans Pelicans announced on Thursday that they have waived guard Jimmer Fredette.
Fredette was signed by the club in November after spending the preseason in training camp with the San Antonio Spurs. Fredette also played for the Pelicans last season, appearing in 50 games.
The fact that Fredette was unable to stick with the Pelicans this season is not great for his resume. The team has been shell-shocked by injuries and is at a woefully disappointing record of 1-11. If Fredette could not find some playing time there (he only played 13 minutes in four games) then there is not much hope that he can find a home anywhere in the NBA.
