The New Orleans Pelicans have had injuries to their players. If they had a clean bill of health like the Los Angeles Clippers, I’m sure that the Pelicans would be a Playoff team. Imagine if Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday were always healthy? They’d be up there with the best of the West don’t you think?
Well unfortunately. That can only be fulfilled on NBA2K. So. To have a contingency for Jrue Holiday and is ailments. The New Orleans Pelicans have announced that they’re signing Toney Douglas to a 10-day contract.
The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed guard Toney Douglas to a 10-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Douglas, 6-2, 185, most recently played for the Jiangsu Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association, appearing in 35 games while averaging 19.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.1 steals. Drafted 29th overall out of Florida State in 2009 by the Los Angeles Lakers, Douglas has appeared in 297 career NBA games with New York, Houston, Sacramento, Golden State and Miami, averaging 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
The Pelicans had Nate Wolters on two 10-day contracts. And because they either had to sign him for the remainder of the season or let him go. They went with the latter and that’s why Douglas is getting the call.
Douglas is more of a shooting guard than a point guard, which makes me scratch my head a little. But I guess Tyreke Evans could be the de facto point guard when Holiday isn’t there.
