
In a battle between 2 teams trying to secure the 8 seed in the always tough Western Conference, the New Orleans Pelicans welcomed the Phoenix Suns into the “Big Easy”. The Pelicans would hold strong at home and defeat the Suns 110-106, ending Phoenix’s 6 game winning streak.
Tyreke Evans led the Pelicans in scoring with 24 on the night and he also grabbed 8 rebounds but the New Orleans star was without a doubt “The Brow”. Anthony Davis led the Pelicans to this win by scoring 19 points and grabbing 18 rebounds, continuing his campaign for this season’s MVP award. Jrue Holiday scored 21 points and handed out 6 assists and Omer Asik scored 11 points on the night while pulling down 8 rebounds. Ryan Anderson came off the bench to score 19 points for the Pelicans.
Eric Bledsoe led the way for the Suns. He scored 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to go along with Goran Dragic, who scored 22 points on the night for Phoenix. Markieff Morris scored 13 points and P.J. Tucker scored 10 points while grabbing 5 rebounds. Gerald Green came off the bench to score 17 points on the night.
New Orleans outrebounded the smaller Suns 49-38.
New Orleans Pelicans are 16-15. Phoenix Suns are 18-15.
