I’m sorry new Orleans Pelicans fans. It seems that everytime I talk about the Pelicans it’s always negative. Alvin Gentry talking about how poor their play can be sometimes. Trade rumours including Ryan Anderson, trade rumours including Eric Gordon. Anthony Davis is now accruing injuries. It’s not exactly sunshine and rainbows in New Orleans.
Alvin Gentry and Tyreke Evans have been through their individual problems this season. Gentry trying to bash the word ‘consistency’ into the team. Evans trying to catch up with the new playbook, it’s been rough. You could say it’s been frustrating.
“No one anticipated this type of season ,and it’s really tough,” said New Orleans coach Alvin Gentry. “It’s a tough situation, and it’s not a bit (frustrating) – it’s a lot frustrating.”
“I think everybody’s frustrated,” said guard Tyreke Evans. “We know how good we are and we shouldn’t be in the position we’re in right now. We’re just trying to take it one game at a time and take it from there.”
“We have to bail our own selves out of this, and we’re not going to be able to do that until we become consistent in what we’re doing,” Gentry said.
Surely Gentry must be clocking onto how he’s beginning to sound like a broken record. I mean he has been talking the same stuff since the start of the season.
And I can’t really complain. I mean how many variations are there for ‘we need to improve’?
