Kicking off the post-holiday weekend, HBO Max has delivered the first full-length trailer for the upcoming series, Peacemaker.
Following the events of The Suicide Squad, Cena’s character joins a new team as he continues his quest to obtain peace by any means necessary. Along this never-ending journey, Peace finds himself at a crossroads. Is peace really worth it if he requires blood and carnage to attain it?
“I think I’m having feelings about things,” Cena’s character tells Jennifer Holland’s Harcourt in the three-minute trailer.
Peacemaker’s consciousness will be on full display during this HBO Max series. As series creator James Gunn puts it, Peacemaker has “a lot to learn.”
“It’s that ability to learn that for me makes him a little bit more likable. His blindspots in some places are pretty terrible, and in some places are him being ignorant. I think that’s an important distinction to make as well. He is open at the same time, sometimes,” Gunn told The Hollywood Reporter about his latest work.
