After trash talking the Raptors, Paul Pierce made sure to back up his talk in a 93-86 overtime win in Toronto. Pierce by far has the most playoff experience of any Wizard, and showed the young guys what coming out with heart and intensity really means.
Pierce has a game-high 20 points on 7/10 shooting, which includes his 4/7 shooting performance from three-point range. Pierce also grabbed 4 rebounds, blocked a shot, and stole the ball once in 36 minutes of play. Pierce’s performance helped the Wizards grab an early lead, as well as keeping them under control after the Raptors came back to tie the game.
If will be tough for Pierce to replicate this performance every game for the rest of the playoffs, but it is highly unlikely Wizards fan don’t see Pierce in this form again in the playoffs. Pierce knows his career is winding down and this may be one of his last opportunities to win a ring, and is going to make he the Wizards do not go down without a fight.
