Last Thursday, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 123-113, but the victory wasn’t the only thing people were talking about after the game. The presumable trash talk between Draymond Green and Paul Pierce was the talking point of this one.
Early in the first quarter, Blake Griffin was in the middle of taking his foul shots when the trash talk began between Green and Pierce. Green’s remarks towards Pierce were picked up on the broadcast and was heard saying “Chasing that farewell tour, they don’t love you like that….You thought you was Kobe?”
Pierce famously just had a warm final return to Boston just a few weeks ago. He played against the Celtics for the last time in the great Northeast and had a beautiful moment to start the game when he kissed the court and then ended the contest with a three and the crowd went nuts.
Although we didn’t see him clap back on the court, Pierce took to Twitter after the game to throw some shade at Green. A subtle jab that took aim at the Warriors misfortunes of not winning it all after their great regular season run.
73 wins and u thought u was gonna win a title that yr ???3-1 lead oops

Jamal Crawford also spoke on the Draymond Green trash talk, looking for Dray to have some respect for players who paved the way for him.
General, universal rule.." Always show respect to the ones that came before you"

Then, Pierce continued his attack while he was a guest on ESPN’s NBA countdown on Saturday night ahead of the primetime game on ABC. Pierce rated Green’s trash talk on a scale of 1-10 and finally gave his perspective of the issues from Thursday night.
The trash talk between the two has since become stagnant and looks to be over with, for now. But with the Clippers and Warriors having a long going feud, this could just be the latest in a long line of drama between the two teams. A rivalry dominated by the Dubs who have won their last 10 matchups against the Clippers.
