Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap was involved in a car crash on Monday, according to Chris Vivlamore and Alexis Stevens of the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Fortunately, it appears that no fatalities were caused by the accident.
Millsap, whose status in Atlanta is up in the air due to an opt-out in his contract, was reportedly not at fault for the collision. A motorcyclist “lost control” of his vehicle, turning into the opposite lane, and crashed head-on with the big man’s car. The motorcyclist was cited with failure to maintain his lane.
According to the report, emergency responders did show up to the scene. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
More from the AJC report:
[Fire Department Sgt.] Stafford had no update on the condition of the motorcycle driver. According to the police report, the motorcycle driver sustained injuries to his legs, feet and left arm. According to Millsap, who reached out to the family of the injured man, he was to undergo surgery Tuesday.“I reached out to the family because it is important that he is doing well,” Millsap told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I wanted to send my best wishes to him.”
Millsap said he was shaken by the incident.
“It’s tough,” Millsap said. “It’s good that I have family and friends around to support me and who are helping me through this process.”
Fortunately, Paul Millsap was fine after the crash and the other driver was not hurt fatally. Our thoughts are with the motorcyclist as he recovers with his injuries.
