It’s still very early in the season but among the most disappointing teams to start the NBA season are the Indiana Pacers. Billed as a sure-fire playoff team, Indiana has struggled out of the gate, currently holding a 3-4 record. More staggering is the way they’ve lost those four games, with an average margin of 16.5 points.
So, seven games into the season, things are not looking great for the Pacers. Their star forward Paul George has already come out to vent about his frustrations, as well.
Following via Nate Taylor of IndyStar:
“We’re all out of whack,” George said. “There’s no trust, there’s no chemistry, there’s no belief. We’re kind of just lifeless right now.”
The Pacers are clearly in a bit of a rut to start the year. That said, they’re still 3-4, hardly a poor record considering less than 10% of the games have been played.
It seems pointless for Paul George to express his frustrations so publicly and so quickly. There are a lot of new pieces on the roster with a new head coach. Everyone should have expected an adjustment period. Eventually they’ll figure things out, if only because they have a top ten player in George leading the way.
