After just returning from his right leg injury last week, Paul George gave us a scare in the Indiana Pacers’ final regular season game against the Memphis Grizzlies. With 10:37 remaining in the fourth quarter, George had to be carried off the floor by his teammates with what looked like an injury to his left leg.
Fortunately, George’s new injury isn’t as serious.
From Pacers analyst Conrad Brunner of 1070TheFan.com:
“I just came off a screen and felt a pop,” George said. “They looked at it, and it’s nothing more than just a calf strain. It’s tough. I worked so hard in rehab to come back and to have something else pop up now, it’s tough. The good thing is that I have a long summer and a lot to look forward to. It wasn’t my right leg. It was my left leg. It’s fine.”
The Grizzlies showed love to George via Twitter after he left the game:

Indiana didn’t end up making the playoffs, but George got a jump start on his physical recovery by getting back on the floor to end the regular season. At least that was an encourager for the Pacers, even if other issues will need to be addressed this offseason.
