It appears that Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will share the ring next month. Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour tweeted, “Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury is a done deal for Feb. 25, per sources.” Neither Paul nor Fury have publicly confirmed Helwani’s report.
It is no secret that Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are not the best of friends. Initially, the two fighters were set to fight on December 19, 2021, but the fight was called off after Fury suffered an injury.
“I am absolutely heartbroken that I have been forced to withdraw from my fight with Jake Paul due to a bacterial chest infection and broken rib,” Fury told fans.
Nearly one year later, the two were scheduled to fight on August 6, 2022 at Madison Square Garden. Again, the bout was canceled after Fury was unable to travel into the United States.
“Despite many assurances by Tommy Fury’s team that he was able to come to the U.S., and knowing that Tommy was in California just last month, we were surprised to learn that he had an issue at Heathrow Airport on Monday,” Paul’s imprint, Most Valuable Promotions, stated.
“As a result of circumstances out of our control, the scheduled press conference for Wednesday at MSG has been postponed. We are working with our partners at SHOWTIME and Madison Square Garden and will share more information as soon as we are able.”
At this time, it appears the fight will take place in Saudia Arabia. There is no word as to who will appear on the undercard.
