Darrelle Revis is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the Patriots opted against using his team option. The option was worth $20 million, a price the team simply couldn’t afford to pay after the Devin McCourty mega deal. It appears the race for Revis will come down to the Jets and Pats. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport shared the Jets plans to sign Revis.
The #Jets have hit pause on their free agent pursuits in the event Darrelle Revis became available. At least, Revis can gauge his market.

The Jets appear to be going all in to land their former star. Revis spent his first six seasons in New York from 2007-2012 before trading him to Tampa Bay. The Bucs then cut Revis after one season and found himself in New England in 2014 where he won a Superbowl. Now the Jets will be in high pursuit of their former star corner.
The Patriots will have their work cut out for them to retain Revis. The Jets have over 50 million to spend in free agency. New England had approximately $14 million prior to the Devin McCourty deal. New England has given corner Brandon Browner a chance to seek the trade market as the team tries to scrounge up enough cash to keep Revis Island in Foxborough. It will be interesting to see where Revis chooses to play in 2015.
