Warriors’ Patrick McCaw reportedly had clean MRI results after being taken to UC Davis hospital in California following a frightening fall in the third quarter of a road game against the Sacramento Kings. The results showed that McCaw’s lower back was “structurally sound.”
According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, after the fall, McCaw experienced some numbness in his legs. Haynes reports that McCaw has since regained feeling in his legs.
Following from ESPN,
All other tests, including an MRI, came back negative, the team said Sunday and McCaw is expected to be discharged from the hospital Sunday. He will see a specialist on Thursday.
The Warriors are calling McCaw’s injury a lumbar spine contusion.
According to Warriors PR, McCaw is expected to miss only three games with the injury.
McCaw was going up for what looked to be an open layup before veteran Kings forward Vince Carter undercut McCaw. The second-year swingman fell to the floor hard and laid there motionless for a while as teammates and Kings players surrounded him.

“I just hope he’s OK,” Carter said. “I play this game because I love it and enjoy it, not to see young guys get hurt. He has a bright future. I just hate to see it.”
“You can tell me whatever, it was an accident, whatever, I just don’t like to see it,” Carter said. “I don’t like to see him sitting there in pain saying he can’t feel his lower half. I don’t know. It doesn’t sit well with me.”
