Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes NFL Draft stock appears to be on the rise as we head into the Scouting Combine. According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, Mahomes has received a 2nd round grade from the NFL’s college advisory board.
Early there was also a report that Mahomes appears to be a first round lock. In a draft class that appears to be very few quarterbacks to pick from, a ton of buzz appears to be coming Mahomes’ way. UNC’s Mitch Trubisky, Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, and Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer appear to be some of the other guys who could get selected in the first round. The Combine will obviously be a big factor of where these quarterbacks get selected.
Mahomes, a junior from Texas Tech, has a big time arm but often times lives off script from what I’ve seen. Any team taking Mahomes would likely plan on sitting him and taking the time to develop him before he gets to start. The 2017 NFL Scouting Combine takes place from February 28th to March 6th.
