Houston Rockets aren’t having the best luck with injuries this season. One player gets healthy, another goes down. It’s a roller coaster of emotions that no Rockets fan enjoys.
When Dwight Howard returned from his injury, it seemed all was going to be well in Houston headed into the playoffs. Well, no less than a game into Howard’s return, Rockets defensive minded point guard Patrick Beverley went down with a wrist injury.
That injury has put Beverley on the shelf for the remainder of this season and the playoffs. Well, maybe not the whole playoffs because it appears Pat is hopeful that he can return to the team if Houston makes a late playoff push.

That May 18th-20th range may be right when the Western Conference Finals start, based off the start of the conference finals last year. Making the conference finals with out Beverley and reserve center Donatas Motiejunas would be quite the amazing feat for the Rockets.
Beverley is optimistic in more than one sense. The fact that he believes he can just take the cast off, slap on some protective covering on his wrist speaks to the competitor we know Beverley to be. He can be annoying at times when he defends opposing point guards but he also can be very effective. Pat is key to the Rockets being able to contain any of the top flight point guards in the West. It’ll definitely be an uphill climb to the finals without Pat but if he can make it happen and come back to the team, Houston would undoubtedly boosted by his presence on the court.
