The Carolina Panthers are tying up some loose ends before the NFL Draft. They have signed TE Greg Olsen to a two-year extension with a good amount of incentives added to the deal. This was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter
Panthers’ TE Greg Olsen is signing a two-year extension today worth $8.55M per year with a max value of up to $10.05M per year, per source. Could make him NFL’s highest paid TE.

This deal is packed with incentives and can reach up too $10.05M annually. Olsen flirted with retirement last season, at least briefly. After an audition for a Monday Night Football analyst job, Olsen decided to return and was looking for a new deal.
Olsen has spent the last sevens seasons with the Panthers and clearly wanted more. He had put up three straight 1000 yard seasons but missed most of last year with a broken foot and failed to reach that mark again. Olsen gives Carolina a weapon on offense and is more valuable than people realize in this teams offense.
As for the Panthers, they look to prepare for tonight’s draft, with their TE position situated for a few years. We’ll see if the Panthers make a splash tonight and if they can bounce back from the Wildcard loss to the Saints that ended their season in 2017.
