Director Guillermo del Toro has announced the release date for ‘Pacific Rim 2’.
He confirmed that the sci-fi sequel will hit theaters on April 7, 2017. Del Toro also announced there is an animated series in the works as well.
The new comes via a Youtube video posted to Legendary film’s channel.
‘Pacific Rim’ was an considered a domestic flip but an international success when it hit theaters last summer. The $190 million blockbuster only took in $100 million here in the States but pulled in another $309 million internationally.
