The Washington Wizards had some tough decisions on their hands heading into the summer of 2017. With the free agency of John Wall looming, they sent a max contract extension offer to the All-Star point guard but he’s waiting to see what the Wizards do in free agency.
While it appears they are going to match the max contract for Otto Porter sent by the Brooklyn Nets, they appeared willing to let another wingman walk. The Wizards could have matched any offer for Bojan Bogdanovic or even negotiated a sign-and-trade but the team decided against it.
They quickly pulled their qualifying offer for Bogdanovic and let him hit the unrestricted free agency market. A rebuilding Indiana Pacers team with money to spend almost immediately agreed to terms with the Croatian wingman.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pacers signed Bojan Bogdanovic to a two-year, $21 million deal.
