And the Indiana Pacers season continues to be tragic. Injuries, injuries and even more injuries.
This time it’s Ian Mahinmi once again. According to ProBasketballTalk, Mahinmi is out for 6-8 weeks due to a foot injury.
On Sunday, the team announced in a press release that he had suffered a torn plantar fascia and will be sidelined 6-8 weeks.
This is yet another setback for the Pacers, who have been beset by injuries all season. After losing Paul George for likely the entire season to a leg injury over the summer, over half their roster has also missed time, including David West, C.J. Watson, C.J. Miles and Roy Hibbert. Starting point guard George Hill has yet to play in a game this season.
Mahinmi was one of only five players on the Pacers’ roster to appear in all 20 games this season (Indiana is 7-13 on the year). Now, he’ll be out almost two months. Just brutal for the Pacers.
Brutal indeed. If this keeps going, Playoffs won’t be a possibility.
Were they even a possibility at the start of the season?
