The Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel, and the Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks, were named Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month, respectively. The Oklahoma City Thunder have won 8 of their last 10, and an overall 9-3 in the entire month. The Indiana Pacers have also won 8 of their last 10, and they went 7-2 in the month, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers twice.
Frank Vogel, is completely deserving of this honor. With Paul George, almost on the cusp of returning to the NBA, Frank Vogel has completely turned this team around, from a lottery driven team, to a team that is competing for the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference. He has done that with C.J Miles as one of his main scorers, so Vogel is very deserving of this award. The Indiana Pacers will make the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference, with Paul George set to return to the NBA in 2 weeks, and that gives the Pacers just enough time to push for the bottom 2 spots in the East.
Scott Brooks on the other hand, is anything but deserving. He merely gave the basketball to Russell Westbrook, and made sure other players stood out the way. Is there any possible way to make Russell Westbrook the Coach and Player of the month? He was on FIRE, setting league records, and joining the elite status of players such as Oscar Robertson and Wilt Chamberlain.
