Pablo Prigioni is headed back to Europe to play professional basketball. This time, the former NBA point guard is signing with Baskonia of the Spanish Liga ACB. He had previously spent two stints with the club from 2003-2009 and from 2011-12 before making the move to the NBA.

Prigioni’s career in the NBA spanned from 2012 until 2016, playing for the New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Clippers. While never fully getting his feet wet in the NBA, Prigioni became a solid backup point guard for those teams.
In his short time in the NBA, the point guard averaged 3.5 points and 2.8 assists per game in 16.9 minutes. He was signed to a training camp deal with the Houston Rockets this summer but ultimately did not make the cut for the final roster.
Now, Prigioni will go back to a league in which he is much more familiar. He has previously won five different titles as a member of Baskonia and will be looking to replicate that success once again.
If Pablo Prigioni does play well in Europe, he will be worth looking out for late in the NBA season. Depending on how his contract is structured, he could be a buy-out candidate for a team looking for veteran leadership and a steady point guard off the bench for the playoffs.
