OWN has announced that they have partnered with Lionsgate to develop a spin-off series off their immensely popular show, Greenleaf. Entering its fifth and final season, Greenleaf stars Merle Dandridge and Keith David in a series chronicling a Memphis family managing a megachurch.
OWN nor Lionsgate has announced the plot of the spin-off. Neither team has announced who will star in the series either. As it stands now, plans for the series are very much in their early stages.
“These plans accelerated when fans expressed their support for the show after its final season was announced, reaffirming its passionate fan base,” a spokesperson for OWN stated.
The final season of Greenleaf is set to hit OWN in June. While you wait, be sure to catch up on all seasons on Netflix.
