For a majority of a fantastic defensive end’s career, Osi Umenyiora spent his time as a member of the New York Giants. The quick defensive end with stellar hands and a strong first step spent nine seasons as a defensive end with the Giants, playing alongside Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul.
Now it appears that the end of Umenyiora’s career is a reality and the former All-Pro defensive end is looking to end his career on a high note. He’s looking to sign a one day contract to retire as a member of the Giants.
Following from ESPN’s Dan Graziano.

There have been rumblings in the past about Osi returning to New York to end his career where it starts. For months, it was discussed that Osi would come back to New York. Even Giants owner John Mara talked about Umenyiora retiring with New York. Now it might be time for Osi to come back for at least one more day with the G-Men.
Umenyiora spent his first 9 years in the NFL with the Giants and he won 2 Super Bowls with them in 2007 and 2011. Osi recorded 75 sacks during his tenure with the Giants including 261 tackles, while he also forced 32 fumbles. Umenyiora was a staple of the Giants defense for almost a decade before younger talent came in and forced the 2-time Pro Bowl defensive end to move on to the Atlanta Falcons.
Now the story of Umenyiora will be ending with his career coming full circle.
