The producers of the 2014 Academy Awards have announced that they will celebrate the 75th anniversary of ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
“We are delighted to celebrate the birthday of one of the most beloved movies of all time at this year’s Oscars,” said show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron
‘The Wizard of Oz’ was nominated for six awards back in 1939. The film won Best Original Score and Best Song and lost Best Picture to ‘Gone with the Wind’.
The 2014 Academy Awards will take place on March 2 from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood with Ellen DeGeneres hosting.
