Matthew McConaughey has won Best Actor for his work on ‘Dallas Buyers Club’.
He played a homophobic electrician who was diagnosed with AIDS in 1985. McConaughey lost 40 pounds for the role. He was a favorite going into the ceremony as he already picked up a Golden Globe and SAG Award this season.
This was McConaughey’s his first Oscar nomination and first win.
