30 Seconds to Mars lead singer Jared Leto has won Best Supporting Actor for ‘Dallas Buyers Club’.
He played a transgendered AIDS patient in his first feature film in six years. His Oscar win completes a stunning award season. He has virtually won the category in every major award show.
Leto beat out fellow nominees Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street), Bradley Cooper (American Hustle) and Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave) to take home the gold.
During his speech, Leto dedicated his award to the “36 million people who’ve lost their battle to AIDS”.
