Jason David Frank, one of the original Power Rangers has revealed that he will be returning to the role in the upcoming movie reboot.
Frank played Green Ranger, Tommy Oliver in the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Following the series, he continued in the role, becoming White Ranger, Red Zeo Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger and Black Dino Thunder Ranger across different Power Rangers shows and movies.
Speaking with ComicBook.com, Frank stated that he met with Lionsgate studios to discuss playing the character on the big screen.
“I don’t know how much I am involved, but for sure cameos at least in the reboot movie.
They are so tight-lipped on that project, it’s ridiculous. I don’t even know my involvement into it. They talked to me about being involved, and the fans would love to see me involved.
We were originally talking about a Green Ranger series, but unfortunately just due to the Lionsgate movie, they didn’t want to overshadow anything or suppress the appetite of the fans, which is a little disappointing. But there’s still possibilities of it.
I think they are trying to save my appearance for the Lionsgate movie.
The Power Rangers movie opens up on July 22, 2016.
