Omri Casspi (left knee bone contusion) will not suit up for tonight’s game. Casspi is averaging 7.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 25 games this season with the Sacramento Kings. With Casspi sidelined Derrick Williams and Nik Stauskas will pick up some extra minutes. The Kings are 13-19 to start of the season losing 9 out of their last 11 games and look to bounce back after a horrible loss on Wednesday afternoon against the Boston Celtics.
“We have to come together as a team – myself included,” DeMarcus Cousins said. “I’m the leader of this team. I have to get my stuff together. I can’t have games like I had tonight. We have to come together and figure this thing out.”
Rudy Gay shot a horrid 4 for 19 from the field, Darren Collison and Ben McLemore combined for six turnovers and, as a team, the Kings had only 12 assists to match a season low. “Everything was just off tonight,” said coach Tyrone Corbin, “It’s a disappointing effort, disappointing loss and we have to get better.” A better performance from both Rudy and Cousins is necessary tonight as the take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Timberwolves only managed to win one game in the month of December and the Kings look to take advantage of that tonight meeting them for the 2nd time this season after beating them earlier this season 113-101. Watch the Sacramento Kings take on the struggling (5-25) Minnesota Timberwolves for the second time this season at 8 ET.
