Oklahoma City Advances To Western Conference Finals With 104-98 Win In Game 6
The Oklahoma City Thunder advanced to their third Western Conference Finals in four years by beating the Los Angeles Clippers 104-98 in Game 6. After starting 1-for-7 from the field, Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 39 points (14 in the 3rd, 11 in the 4th) and 16 rebounds.
The Thunder were down by as many as 16 points before using a third quarter rally that ended with a Nick Collison corner three to tie it at 72 going into the fourth quarter. Serge Ibaka left the game for Oklahoma City with 7:24 remaining in the third quarter with a calf injury. Oklahoma City’s bench outscored the Clipper bench 35-17, much to the ineffectiveness of Jamal Crawford’s 4 points on just 2-of-5 shooting. Chris Paul finished with a team-high 25 points and 11 assists for the Clippers and will miss out on yet another Conference Finals appearance. Blake Griffin had 22 points and 8 rebounds.
Oklahoma City faces the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Monday night at 9:00 PM EST on TNT.
