The silent legal battle between Quality Control Records and Offset is beginning to make noise. On August 24, TMZ reported that the Grammy-nominated artist began working to secure the rights to his solo endeavors as early as January 2021. In pursuit of a solo deal, the outlet claims that the Georgia native “paid handsomely” for his artist rights. However, the label has allegedly failed to honor the agreement as he embarks on his solo endeavors.
Moments after the initial report went live online, Quality Control Records CEO Pierre “P” Thomas took to Twitter to express his frustrations.
“The last lawsuit was filed publicly and dismissed quietly. Let’s see how this one go. Been to real for all this lame sh*t. Everyone knows the real problem,” he tweeted.
Shortly thereafter, Offset took to Twitter and replied publicly. According to the chart-topping artist, he has been “blackballed” in the music industry.
Ni*ggas act like I’m the problem I paid millions to get my rights back Nigga you blackballed me I ain’t said Sh*t one time homie I ain’t spoke to you in 2 years now I drop and you want ya name on my credit,” he replied.
Offset retweeted his initial response while the Quality Control CEO began teasing new releases from the label. According to the music executive, Lil’ Baby, Takeoff, Quavo, City Girls, Lakeyah and several others are working on new projects.
“No time for distractions. Keep hustling,” the Quality Control CEO stated.
As Quality Control moves forward with its releases, Offset continues to tease his solo project by dropping “54321” with Baby Keem production.
