Artists in and around the city of Atlanta are turning in and pushing out projects at a profound pace. Within the last few weeks, Metro Boomin’, JID, Young Nudy, 2 Chainz, and Mariah The Scientist have all put out new bodies of work. Not to mention, Lil’ Baby has also been teasing a new mixtape, so it’s easy to see why Offset doesn’t want to be left out of the discussion.
After a nearly two-year stretch that has included a public split from his now ex-wife, Cardi B, what appears to be a reconciliation with Quavo, and a public split with his now former label, Quality Control, Offset certainly has a lot to talk about. Along the way, he pulls in the likes of JID, NBA Youngboy, Gunna, YFN Lucci, Key Glock, Teezo Touchdown, John Legend, and Ty Dolla $ign to help tell the story of the album.
In the buildup to the album’s release, there was a lot of discussion regarding the outro — “Move On.” During a conversation with the Associated Press, he revealed that the track documents the end of his most recent marriage and the start of a new chapter.
“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be,” he said. “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on — it’s over and done with.”
Offset opens up and shares his perspective through his third studio album, Kiari. Check it out below.
