When being a fan goes wrong.
A Texas Department of Public Safety officer is now under fire for posing in a picture with the notorious criminal mastermind, Snoop Dogg. The poor victim is trooper Billy Spears — who was on duty to provide security during SXSW. The “Gin N Juice” rapper was a keynote speaker and an event which led to Spears asking for a photo, like any fan would.
Unfortunately, once The Doggfather posted the picture on Instagram, Spears’ commanders caught wind and filed papers for counseling. Moreover, this all seems to stem from an earlier incident in which Spears reported another officer for being a bit too crunk.
Here’s what the counseling reprimand said: “While working a secondary employment job, Trooper Spears took a photo with a public figure who has a well-known criminal background including numerous drug charges. The public figure posted the photo on
social media and it reflects poorly on the Agency.”
