If you have been watching the New York Giants during OTAs this offseason, you will easily notice a significant absence. Not only are the Giants missing a guy with great hair, but also one that had 101 receptions last season for 1,367 yards and 10 touchdowns. If I’m the Giants, I want to find this man now.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Beckham’s absence is all about the money.
No one in Odell Beckham Jr. camp has admitted it, but his absence from OTAs is directly related to his desire for a new deal, per sources.

Before you think Beckham is being selfish, know that his base salary for next season is $1.8 million. If I recorded 197 receptions for 2,817 yards along with 23 touchdowns the last two seasons, I would feel I was worth more too.
The Giants had a town hall meeting on June 6 and Giants owner John Mara made it clear he wants to keep Beckham in blue and white long term.
Fan asks John Mara if #NYG talked long-term deal on @OBJ_3. Not yet, but: “Obviously we want him to be a Giant for the rest of his career.”

Giants fans want to hear that, but they also want their star WR to be happy. This problem needs to be fixed soon because the more it lingers, the more negative attention it draws to the Giants.
Even though he has been absent, Beckham has been staying in shape. Reports surfaced that he was working out with Johnny Manziel and on May 24, Manziel gave us confirmation via Instagram.
More recently, a video surfaced on June 6 showing Beckham making his signature one-handed catches.

Beckham quoted the video on Twitter saying, “Keep working in silence..#IGetIt.”
Hopefully, the Giants break the silence soon. Pay that man.
