Octavia Spencer is the latest to join the cast of Insurgent, the sequel to sci-fi thriller Divergent.
Spencer will play Johanna, the leader of the Amity faction, and will star alongside returning cast members, Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Kate Winslet.
Insurgent is the second installment of Veronica Roth’s Divergent trilogy.
Divergent debuted at number one at the US box office, making $116 million at the domestic box office.
Akiva Goldsman is penning the script for the film, which opens in theaters March 20, 2015.
