Officials in Turkey have decided to ban Lars Von Trier’s sexual-charged film ‘Nymphomaniac.’
Culture Ministry representative Cem Erkul and other members of the country’s film board, along with a psychologist and a sociologist (basically anyone opposed to sex on the movie screen), came to the conclusion that the film breaks boundaries of art due to its explicit sex scenes and graphic nudity.
Erkul states:
“This film is in the porn category… because of its explicit sexual scenes. It also depicts extreme violence against women.”
The fun police are always out to ruin mature adult’s views of a good time, or art for that matter. Fortunately, the film will still air during Istanbul Film Festival in April.
