Beaches in the city had been open to sunbathing throughout the month of June. Now, beach goers can also go swimming as well. With the nation’s independence day on the horizon, the move is sure to attract city residents for the holiday weekend.
Opening beaches will also reintroduce jobs that were previously cut during the pandemic. On any give summer day, there are more than 600 lifeguards that work the city’s beachfront. With the summer ahead sure to attract beach goers, it appears that those jobs will return.
