The Denver Nuggets have waived guard Nick Young after just four games, the team announced on Sunday. Young had spent a total of just 20 days with the franchise:

Young was signed by the Nuggets early in December due to multiple injuries to key players earlier in the season, including Will Barton, Gary Harris, and Paul Millsap. Now, with Millsap having returned from a broken big toe and Will Barton (hip/core surgery) and Gary Harris (hip) returning to health as well, the Nuggets had no incentive to hold on to the three-point specialist with the emergence of Torrey Craig and Monte Morris as well.
Despite being waived, the former USC guard will more than likely have teams interested in his services, as he has been a very reliable shooter and overall scorer for most of his career and could undoubtedly help out any shooting-deprived bench unit.
Prior to the Nuggets, Young played in a bench role with the eventual champion Golden State Warriors last season, averaging a career-low 7.3 points per game in just over 17 minutes per game. Before that, he started as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers from 2013-14 to 2016-17, averaging 13.1 points in over 24 minutes per game over his four seasons.
