Nick Young won an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors last season and the swingman finally captured the elusive championship all players chase. It’s a great accolade to achieve but NBA teams didn’t immediately bite at the opportunity to sign the veteran. ‘Swaggy P’ wasn’t in the rumors too much this past summer so he entered the season as a free agent, ready to join any squad who might need a heat check shooter who also is a noted character in the locker room.
Insert the injury-depleted Denver Nuggets, a team fresh off two of their starters going down with injuries and a weekend with back-to-back losses to the Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks.
The Nuggets signed Young to a deal and the team made the move official on Monday morning.

Here’s the release from the team announcing the signing.
The Denver Nuggets have signed veteran guard Nick Young to the injury hardship relief exception granted by the NBA. Additionally, they have waived guard Brandon Goodwin, President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly announced today.
Will Young give the Nuggets everything they’re missing with Paul Millsap and Gary Harris on the shelf for the forseeable future? Probably not but he has proven in the past to be a fine rotation player who has his hot streaks. He’s definitely the biggest character to join the team in recent memory so if anything, everyone around the NBA will be paying attention to what Swaggy P might be up to in the Mile High City.
