The Denver Nuggets spend yet another season being mediocre, the worst position you can possibly be in. When you’re mediocre you’re good enough not to be a out and out lottery team, but you’re not good enough to make the Playoffs.
It’s NBA’s version of limbo and the Denver Nuggets have made themselves a home in NBA Limbo. Speaking of limbo, Danilo Gallinari is has been in his own personal limbo. For the past couple of weeks he’s been out with an ankle injury and with the season winding down and the Nuggets pretty much out of Playoff contention, the Nuggets have shut Gallinari down.
“No,” he said after the team’s shootaround on Saturday morning.
So, he’s done?
“Yes,” he said.
“Very disappointing,” Gallinari said. “But that’s the way it is. We’re not fighting for anything right now. As a player, it’s one of the worst feelings ever because if you’re not fighting for anything it’s even tougher to find the motivation to play a game.”
Once again we have to ask what do the Denver Nuggets want? All the changes they make aren’t ever pointing to either the “tanking” direction, or the “Playoff” direction. It’s always split. They need to decide whether to blow it up or make a push, because this clearly isn’t working. They also need another scorer because Danilo Gallinari has “injury prone” written all over him.
